Executive Director

Carol O'Bryan Henneman is a native Virgin Islander who has dedicated her life to education.  She holds a B.A. in English/Education from the University of the Virgin Islands and a M.A. in English/Education from the University of Connecticut.  A former Assistant Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Henneman, who taught English at the Charlotte Amalie High School for eighteen years, has also served as a Master Teacher for the Department of Education.  A published writer, poet, and journalist, and media specialist, Mrs. Henneman was an Assistant Professor of English at the University of the Virgin Islands. Since then she has worked as an Executive Assistant and Public Information Specialist for the Virgin Islands Port Authority.  Presently, she is the Executive Director of the Virgin Islands Board of Education. She has also been affiliated for many years with the Family Resource Center – a non-profit organization that helps victims of violent crimes and domestic violence.
