Mrs. Perez-Cassius is a newly elected 2020 VIBE member. She is committed to student success inside of the classroom and in life. Her belief system is student success created through meaningful educational policy, and practice is vital for community development. Member Perez-Cassius spent the last twenty years working full-time in various positions that specialize in educational youth development. Her expertise ranges from the traditional V.I. public-school classroom settings to management and leadership in nonprofit organizations. Member Perez-Cassius worked for thirteen years as a Special Education Para-Professional with the VI Department of Education. Simultaneously, during after-school hours she worked as an Assistant Director for Beacon Schools of the Virgin Islands. Member Perez-Cassius also worked with the Metro Atlanta Boys & Girls Club, an organization she credits for her understanding of systemized youth development. An educational strategist and youth motivator, Mrs. Perez-Cassius uses her knowledge and valuable skill acquired throughout the years to support youth and families in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She currently serves as Director of Programming at the Caribbean Centers for Boys & Girls, VI. She is a proud graduate of the University Virgin Islands; Emmanuella has a B.A. in English; She is also a graduate of the University’s 2020 Certified Public Manager Program. Member Perez-Cassius is a member of the St Croix Foundation’s nonprofit consortium and a New Horizon Democratic Club member. She serves on the board for Virgin Islands Good Food Coalition, where she performs with energy and vision.
Recently selected as 2020 National VI mother of the year, Member Perez-Cassius is a proud Crucian mother of five and wife. She intends to serve the Virgin Islands Board of Education with earnestness and honor until it is her time to pass the baton. Member Perez-Cassius continues to be a valuable asset to the VI community and always brings to the table the skills and passion required when creating impactful change.
