Celebrating Employee Appreciation Day and Recognizing Maintenance Workers, School Social Workers, and International Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day

As we mark Employee Appreciation Day and recognize Maintenance Workers Appreciation Day, School Social Work Week, and International Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day, the Virgin Islands Board of Education (VIBE) proudly joins Chairman Dr. Kyza A. Callwood in expressing gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and contributions of our valued employees and stakeholders in education.

Employee Appreciation Day, March 3, is a time to honor and recognize the hard work, commitment, and achievements of all employees within the education sector. From teachers and administrators to support staff and maintenance workers, each individual plays a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for our students.

Maintenance Workers Appreciation Day, March 3, provides an opportunity to acknowledge the essential contributions of maintenance workers who ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our school facilities. Their tireless efforts behind the scenes contribute to the overall well-being and success of our educational institutions.

During School Social Work Week, March 5th through 11th, we celebrate the invaluable role of school social workers in supporting the social, emotional, and academic needs of students, families, and school communities. Their compassion, advocacy, and expertise enhance the holistic development and success of our students.

International Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day, March 10th, highlights the importance of fostering social and emotional skills in education. SEL plays a crucial role in promoting positive mental health, resilience, and academic achievement among students. By prioritizing SEL, we empower students to thrive in school and in life.

Chairman Dr. Kyza A. Callwood extends his appreciation to all employees and stakeholders, stating, “On behalf of the Virgin Islands Board of Education, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated employees, maintenance workers, school social workers, and advocates for their unwavering commitment to excellence in education. Your contributions make a difference every day, and we are truly grateful for your dedication and service.”
