The Virgin Islands Board of Education provides financial assistance to Virgin Islanders committed to advancing their education. We offer scholarships, grants, and loans including:

Eligibility Requirements

Let the Virgin Islands Board of Education help you achieve your educational dreams.  Our financial aid is exclusively for Virgin Islands residents.  Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for financial assistance from the Virgin Islands Board of Education:

  • Be a bona fide resident of the Virgin Islands
  • Be a graduate from a high school in the Virgin Islands or have proof of three (3) years residency in the US Virgin Islands
  • Be accepted to / or attending an accredited institution full time
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or a 2.5 GPA for Nursing

The supporting documents vary based on your level and the award you are seeking. Please click here for details on what you should know before you apply.

In general, you will need to provide the following supporting documents:

  • An official high school or college transcript
    • Electronic transcripts may be sent to the email address financialaid@myviboe.com
  • An acceptance letter for freshman, transfer, or graduate students
  • Completed W9 form for first-time applicants
  • Letter of recommendation from department head or supervisor for In-Service Training Grant applicants
  • In addition to your personal information and the supporting documents listed above, you must provide the name and contact information of two (2) adult emergency contact persons with Virgin Islands addresses, one of whom must be an immediate family member.
  • Please note: Additional supporting documentation may be required.
