Honoring Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

As Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month approaches, the Virgin Islands Board of Education (VIBE) stands in solidarity with Chairman Dr. Kyza A. Callwood to recognize and honor the resilience and achievements of individuals with developmental disabilities. Throughout the month of March 2024, we join communities across the nation in raising awareness, promoting inclusivity, and advocating for the rights and dignity of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month serves as an opportunity to celebrate the unique talents, abilities, and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities. It is a time to reaffirm our commitment to creating inclusive environments that empower all individuals to reach their full potential.

Chairman Dr. Kyza A. Callwood shares his perspective on the importance of this month, stating, “Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is a time for us to come together as a community to recognize the value and potential of individuals with developmental disabilities. It is a time to foster understanding, acceptance, and support for all members of our society.”

Join us in honoring Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and advocating for a more inclusive and equitable society for individuals of all abilities. Together, let us work towards a future where every individual is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive.
